Con Season is back!!

I guess I should revive this blog now that con season is back!! I’ve been working on things slowly because of work and life, so hopefully I can keep this blog going and keep track of how my cosplay work is coming along.

For Anime North, Brie and I are cosplaying as Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus. I’ll post some WIP photos in a bit… Because I really need to do a lot of work still ahaha  ヘ(。□°)ヘ

Work is having a Halloween costume contest tomorrow.

I still don’t know what to wear.

Long time no post!

Hello everyone and hello to my new followers! Thank you for following me ヽ(;▽;)ノ

Apologies that there haven’t really been many updates since FanExpo happened, life got kind of busy. I’m working full time now so I haven’t really had much time to work on costumes and other things that I’ve been meaning to.

Brie and I were planning on doing a new Sherlock photoshoot last weekend but we got really distracted by tea and food and snuggles and stuff… So hopefully we’ll make up for it SOON particularly because it’s Autumn now and there will be no more melting in oatmeal jumpers and long coats with scarves.

On the costume front, I’m planning on working on getting my costume together for Toronto Zombie Walk! The plan is to begin this weekend, so I’ll post some bloody pictures then :D

Aaaah~ I'm so happy I stumbled across your blog. I've just started sewing myself, I got a sewing machine for my birthday and I can't wait to start using it to make my own cosplay!

Yay! :D Have lots of fun and don’t get discouraged if something doesn’t turn out the way you expected~ I know I’ve had a few times where I just needed to walk away from my sewing machine so I didn’t break it XD But then again, my sewing machine is probably as old as I am so… haha

Toronto Fan Expo planning (2)

OK SO.

Bata and I have decided which day will be which cosplay for Fan Expo!

Thursday: Sherlock / John (BBC Sherlock)

Friday: Black Widow / Hawkeye (The Avengers)

Saturday: Effie Trinket / Tenth Doctor (Hunger Games / Doctor Who)

Sunday: Korra / Sweet lolita (Legend of Korra / Lolita fashion)

Basically this is just so I remember lol ok.

Today’s injuries include:

  • Stabbing myself with pins (this is normal though)
  • Scalding myself with the glue gun
  • AND HERE’S THE FUN ONE:
  • Electrocuting myself while UNPLUGGING THE GLUE GUN.

I’ll probably post up some more WIP shots of Hawkeye later today/tonight as I work on it all day.

My back is killing me

where did you get your pb wig?

I got it off Ebay. I believe the store was called “okfashion-89” - they’re located in China so the shipping took a while, but their customer service was excellent. The PB wig didn’t arrive within the time frame that they said it would and I mentioned this after it did show up, and they let me select another wig and sent it to me free of charge as an apology!

Toronto Fan Expo planning

I keep forgetting and/or thinking I have too few or too many cosplays for Toronto Fan Expo, so I need to make a list so I stop second guessing myself!

  • Hawkeye - Incomplete (Vest, Pants, Boots, omgeverything!)
  • John Watson - Complete (minus hair dying/cutting)
  • Tenth Doctor - Complete
  • Sweet Lolita - Incomplete (Need handbag/purse)

Unsure of what day will be which costume - Depends on Bata because she is my Black Widow and my Sherlock!

I’ll be wearing Lolita on Sunday for sure because that is when the majority of the Lolita events are and I’m waiting to see if I’m selected to be in the fashion show again this year.

Oh god Fan Expo is less than a month away…

where did you get the red fabric for your hawkeye costume? I am gathering supplys for my own hawkeye cosplay but can't find a good red fabric.

Fabricland! I don’t know where you’re from Anon, but as far as I know Fabricland is a Canadian company so I’m not sure if it can be found elsewhere… It’s where I purchase the majority of my fabric and sewing supplies though.

lol remember that time when I stabbed myself for cosplay?

I think this blog will probably also include all my wounds/burns that I sustained while working on cosplay (ahahahaharghhhhhhh…)

This beauty is when I stabbed myself while carving up my artist tube for my Hawkeye quiver. It doesn’t look like much, but the knife went in 1/4” and it bled for 30 minutes. The scar tissue is ridiculous. (LOL I LOOK SO ANGRY.)
